Jess
ROLE:
Veterinary NurseVeterinarian
Jess has always been fascinated by the natural world. Growing up exploring deep Nordic forests, she developed a lifelong curiosity for wildlife, animal behaviour, and the way species change over time. This passion led her to study Palaeontology at university while working at a museum dedicated to evolution and prehistoric life.
A move from the far north to the far south brought Jess to Canberra, where she quickly fell in love with Australia’s unique wildlife and endless outdoor adventures. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find her travelling around the country in search of new climbing routes, mountain biking trails, or hiking tracks. She also enjoys strength training—especially lifting heavy things just to set them back down again.
Jess began her career in the veterinary industry working reception at an evening emergency clinic, where she discovered her enthusiasm for animal care. Motivated to pursue hands-on nursing, she completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing while gaining experience as a kennel hand and later as a junior nurse in general practice.
Now a qualified veterinary nurse and a valued member of the Harrison team, Jess brings warmth, curiosity, and a genuine love of animals to every patient she meets.
